About

DAMSKY PAPER CO.

History

Leonard Damsky founded Damsky Paper Company in 1965 as a buyer and seller of stock lot papers. Mr. Damsky’s vision for the company was to become a leading diversified trading company of job lot papers. While operating on a global scale, the company focused on creating and maintaining flexible and adaptable processes. This approach allowed Damsky Paper to serve and build customer relationships even as their needs changed.

In the early 70s, Martin Damsky, Leonard’s son, joined the company. The business grew under his leadership and became one of the leaders in job lot trading. From its operations in Birmingham, Damsky Paper expanded to serve customers all over the world. In 2010, Jeremy Duvdevani joined the company as a Sales Director. He advanced from that role to VP of Sales in 2011 and then onto the COO position, slowly assuming increased management roles within the company. In 2018, Jeremy purchased the company from the Damsky family.

DPC

Today

The company remains a family-owned business and maintains its long-held traditions of standing behind its paper, providing fast, reliable deliveries and offering pricing that gives our customers a competitive edge. We have over 60 years of experience in the paper industry, serving customers and papermills worldwide.

In 2019 DPC moved into their new home in the industrial area of the Pinson Valley. The new headquarters includes a 160,000 square foot, state-of-the-art food-grade warehouse, with office space and indoor rail siding. While maintaining its place as a leading company in the paper trading industry, DPC has added a range of products and services that include:

  • Purchasing, converting, and distributing paper
  • Offering new and additional products, solutions, and services for the industrial and food packaging industry
  • Providing warehousing and distribution space and services, including storage and transloading (rail and truck) shipping

DPC is committed to being a responsible and sustainable company and strives to keep wastepaper out of landfills, when at all possible, by using a variety of repurpose methods.

OUR PLAN

for Tomorrow

As DPC plans for tomorrow, we will build from the precedent established by our founders—provide great service and innovate to stay flexible and responsive. As a family-owned business, DPC values our employees and customers and will grow by serving those relationships, many developed over more than 30 years.

That growth will include continual improvement and expansion of our core capabilities in the paper trading and converting industry while offering new solutions in the custom packaging industry. As we expand our products and services, we will seek new ways to be an ever more sustainable company, repurposing and reusing rejected paper by bringing it back into the market.
